Jason Quinn is the Chief Executive of Nedbank Group Limited. He was previously at Absa Group Limited for 16-years and held the role of Interim Group Chief Executive and Group Financial Director. Prior to that he was a Partner at EY.
At Absa Group Limited, Jason held various senior executive roles notably leading the separation negotiations with Barclays Plc and the creation of South Africa’s largest black owned, asset manager with funds under management in excess of R1tn together with Sanlam and ARC as well as the R12bn Absa Group limited broad based BEE transaction.
On the ESG front, a successful milestone was the creation of African Rainbow Energy and Power, a black-owned leading investor in the renewables space, while Jason was spearheading the firm’s efforts in renewing its focus on ESG as part of a strategic reset.
Jason is a past Chairperson of the CFO Forum of SAICA and a past National Council member of SAICA. He was named CFO of the Year in 2020, also winning in the categories of Strategic Execution and moving into Africa.

Energy Availability Factor (EAF) = measure of generation performance, electricity available to be generated. EAF is the difference between the maximum availability and all unavailabilities expressed as a percentage
Dispatchable generation refers to sources of electricity that can be programmed on demand at the request of power grid operators, according to market needs. Dispatchable generators may adjust their power output according to an order.
Net Zero means cutting carbon emissions to a small amount of residual emissions that can be absorbed and durably stored by nature and other carbon dioxide removal measures, leaving zero in the atmosphere.
Nationally Determined Contributions are the commitments that countries make to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions as part of climate change mitigation.
